Top U.S. Travel Destinations

The United States has an endless supply of interesting travel destinations. We thought we would put together a list of our favorite stops. A great way to see the country is to travel in an RV. This allows you save money on lodging while giving you access to a larger variety of destinations.

The Centennial State, Colorful Colorado

If you do travel by RV, Colorado is the state to see. You can fly into Denver and rent an RV for your trip. From Denver, head west to the majestic Rocky Mountains. About an hour up I-70 you can stop in the historic silver mining camp of Georgetown. From there, you can head up Guanella Pass and see some of the most stunning scenes the state has to offer. If you keep heading west you can make a stop at Avalanche Ranch in Redstone, Colorado. Enjoy a soak in their beautiful outdoor natural hot springs. Head south to the San Juans and you'll find the town of Durango, Colorado. From here you can hop a ride on the narrow gauge railroad and wind through 45 miles of Colorado wilderness.

You can travel for weeks and still not see everything Colorado has to offer. Along the way, there is an endless adventure to be had including skiing, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, zip lines, rafting, and more.

Seattle, Washington

Seattle is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities our country has to offer. Nestled between the Puget Sound and the Cascade mountain range, Seattle is a melting pot of beauty and culture. There's the world-famous Pike Place market, full of amazing coffee, more flowers than you've ever seen, and some of the best seafood on the planet.

A great mini-trip during your Seattle stay is Deception Pass, State Park. If you're into the outdoors, the wilderness in this area is second-to-none. Stand on cliffs overlooking to Pacific, hike through a towering pine rainforest, and catch the most beautiful sunset our country has to offer.

Yellowstone National Park

It may be a cliche, but Yellowstone is a must-see in the United States. The entire park sits on top of a massive caldera supervolcano. If Yellowstone were to erupt, which is highly unlikely, it would cover almost the entire country in ash thick enough to completely interrupt civilization. Because of the volcanic activity, Yellowstone is teeming with life year-round. The natural hot springs in the area and unusually fertile soil attract thousands of species of wildlife. Some of the springs exist in the form of geysers that erupt multiple times per day. It is a site to behold, the entire landscape is unlike anything else in the country.

Hopefully, we've been able to provide some ideas for your next family outing. It's impossible to scratch the surface of what the country has to offer in one article. However, these three destinations are all guaranteed to provide an experience you will never forget. So get out there and see what America has to offer.
